// Playing For Change
Playing For Change is a multi-media music project and an educational foundation using music as a force for peace and social cohesion. US producer Mark Johnson began the project in 2004, travelling the world recording and filming street buskers. The first video, ‘Stand By Me’, was released in 2009 and has been viewed over 30 million times. The first Playing For Change CD/DVD Songs Around The World was released in 2009 along with a feature length documentary Peace Through Music. The educational foundation has built seven music schools – in South Africa, Nepal, Mali, Ghana and Rwanda. In 2011, Songs Around The World Part 2 was released, featuring 150 musicians from 15 countries.
